FS38E - CTT Automatic Lockers - LOCKY

Category

Members might have seen the storage lockers from CTT located in several places. They are lockers where you can safely receive, send or return parcels conveniently, without needing to be home, or receive packages if your post-box it is not big enough or if your address is difficult to find. Currently, the best-known option belongs to CTT and is called Cacifo CTT Locky or Cacifos24H. Customers can receive purchases from any online store, which means that regardless of whether the store you use has this shipping method or not, you can receive your order in the ‘Locky’ of your choice.

These lockers are found across mainland Portugal and the autonomous regions, often in supermarkets, gas stations, shopping centres and other accessible location.

If the store does not have the option of delivery in Cacifo CTT Locky, then other procedures must be followed. First, you need to register yourself in the Cacifo CTT Locky customer area (please see the image below). Please click in Faça o seu registo/Register yourself and fill in with your personal details, you need to tick the box to accept the CTT terms and conditions and press in Registar. Next time you only need to click in Entrar to have access to your account.

Then, just place your order at the store you want and in the shipping address field you use the address that appears in your customer area of Cacifo CTT Locky (see example below), NOT your home address, and select the ‘Locky’ that you want the item to be delivered to.

After that the procedure is the same. You will receive the codes (PIN or QR-code) to open your locker by email and SMS.
There are two codes that are sent to customers by email and SMS as soon as the order arrives at the locker:

  • Code that identifies the object
  • It is the code that opens the locker.

Locker availability: Not all online shops offer Locky delivery directly; you may need to use the virtual address option.

Sending/returning parcels:

  • You can drop off packages or returns at Locky lockers using a valid shipping code.
  • This avoids queues at post offices and allows 24/7 access in many locations

Parcel size limits: Lockers have size restrictions, so very large packages may not fit.

Pickup deadlines: Parcels must be collected within a set timeframe (usually a few days) before being returned to sender.

Orders that cannot be placed in the lockers

  • Cash on delivery: Parcels that need payment on delivery cannot go in the lockers, as there’s no one there to take the money.
  • Over 20 kg: Any parcel weighing more than 20 kg (including the box) will not be accepted.
  • Too large: Lockers only fit parcels up to 75 cm × 61 cm × 48 cm. Anything bigger won’t be allowed.
  • Signature required: If your parcel needs a signature on collection (for example, proof of receipt), it cannot be delivered to the lockers.
  • From outside the EU: Parcels sent from countries outside the European Union are not accepted, as they may need customs checks or extra fees.

The cost of using Cacifos24H (CTT Locky lockers) depends on whether the online shop already has a partnership with CTT or not:

If the shop offers delivery to lockers:
You don’t pay anything extra. The parcel is stored in the locker free of charge.

If the shop does not offer lockers as a delivery option:
You can still use them by registering in the Lockers24H customer area and buying credits.

  • Each locker use = 1 credit.
  • 1 credit = €1.50.
  • Example: If your order arrives in two separate boxes, you’ll need 2 credits (€3).
