The organisation KuantoKusta (which is a corruption of the Portuguese phrase meaning “how much does it cost”), is already known for its role as a price comparison and marketplace site and has now increased its help to consumers by launching Kabaz.pt  an innovative digital platform that promises to transform the way people shop in supermarkets. The platform is in Portuguese but is simple to use as it displays images of products and brands.

The site enables users to identify the supermarket where a shopping list is cheaper and help to improve consumers' savings if they choose to divide their purchases between supermarkets where prices are lower. Using filters to identify the supermarkets you use and the products you wish to buy, adding them to your Kabaz’ (hamper) and then clicking on ‘O meu Kabaz’ at the top of the page will immediately give consumers a comparison between the prices in the chosen supermarkets.

Product prices are updated several times a day, in order to "increase convenience, price transparency and (make) informed decisions", and also allows consumers to monitor price trends. Prices are also available by location, in order to provide users with local reality and in the future, other features will be introduced, such as a history and a price alert.
