This remains the most reliable way to end a telecom contract in Portugal. Sending a registered termination letter (carta de rescisão) with acknowledgment of receipt to any operator — whether NOS, MEO, Vodafone, or NOWO — is the best way to avoid being routed to the retention department and pressured to stay.
